SPD MIU34 - You're Awesome!

A super-simple, masculine card for this month's Mix it Up Challenge at SugarPea Designs. Here's the inspiration:

Image may contain: people sitting

I focused on the pillow  - the stripes and the navy blue anchor.

I literally stamped one stamp onto a piece of the new Spots & Stripes patterned paper and called it done. Sometimes, that's all you need. But the colours and the contrast between the straight stripes and the handwritten/graffiti look of the sentiment still create some interest and hey, who doesn't want to hear that they're awesome! lol!

Muse 231 - You're The Best

Here's my take on this week's Muse challenge, where our Guest Muse, Cat Craig has given us this inspiration:

I focused on Cat's:
-colours
-floral/leaf theme
-black script sentiment

I started by watercolouring a panel in two shades of fuschia and another in green and aqua. I spritzed them with water, and then used die cuts for my leaves, 'flower' and sentiment.

Here's a special treat! If you shop at Catherine Pooler Designs this week you will earn DOUBLE points on your purchases!

FS551 - Merry

Congratulations to this week's Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper, Christine (aka calex). I chose this festive card as my inspiration:

I focused on Christine's:
-poinsettia element
-tag element
-gold splatter
-one-word sentiment

I changed:
-orientation
-technique (I used die cuts)

I started by painting two watercolour panels with Catherine Pooler inks. Then I spritzed them with a mixture of Biscotti Perfect Pearls and Water for some shimmer. When they were dry, I cut out the leaves to form petals.

I cut a cardbase from Neenah 110lb cardstock and spattered some gold watercolour on it.

I cut a tag and topper from Tags Etc (Counting Blessings) in kraft and white and glued my poinsettia there. I used several sparkly gold enamel dots from my stash as the flower centre. I added a sentiment, using my MISTI and finally I popped the whole thing up on the card base.

EH Pinsights - Many Thanks

Here's my card for the current Ellen Hutson PinSights Challenge on the CLASSroom blog.

I focused on:
-the berries
-green leaves

This new Rustic Botanicals stamp set has the perfect little flower/berry stamp for this photo! I used my MISTI to create a symmetrical design by laying out the stamp and then stamping on the top and then the bottom of my panel.

SugarPea Designs Release Sweet Peeks Day 5

It's the final day of SugarPea Designs' Sweet Peek Week - I hope you've enjoyed all the amazing cards the DT has made with these new products. Tonight, at 6 pm, they'll be available for you to purchase.

Today's set is our Sweet Incentive set this month - if your order is over $60 (before shipping and taxes), the Knit Wit stamp set is yours for free!

I started with my focal panel - I stamped, coloured and die cut the heart shaped knitting and adhered it to a Zig Zag Stitched Circle which had been stamped with the sentiment. I drew a light outline around the circle on my base panel, then stamped the balls of wool before colouring with a rainbow of Copic markers.

For this card, I went back to a previously released set Barn to be Wild, to incorporate the sweet sheep - it's always fun when you buy something new that works so well with something you've already got!

SugarPea Designs Release Sweet Peeks Day 4

It's Day 4 of SugarPea Designs' Sweet Peeks Week - all of these products will be available on Friday night at 6 pm.

Today we have two new stamp sets - one is a beautiful mandala that will be so versatile and the other is a sentiment set that's all about YOU (with matching die, of course!)

This card was inspired by Debby Hughes' card here. I loved her colour choice and tried to mix my own watercolours (I know!) to match (I think mine ended up a bit softer, but still very pretty, if I do say so myself! lol!).

I stamped the mandala 4 times on a 6x6 piece of watercolour cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder. Then I set to work with my Prima Confections. I cut the panel using Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles, offsetting the mandalas so that the clear space created a place for my sentiment. Then I cut the 'you' 3 times (2 in regular cardstock, 1 with watercolour cardstock that had been painted with some of the full strength purple) and stacked them up.

Next, I felt like the mandala was calling out for for a rainbow treatment. This is so simple - I scribbled some Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers on and then spritzed it a lot! (be sure to use watercolour cardstock for this method). I cut it out using the largest Zig Zag Stitched Circle die and popped it up over the edge on a square card (making sure that it will still fit into a standard-sized envelope!).  Here's a quick video:

Today I'm showing my final of 4 cards for this month's Muse: ChristmasVisions challenge, where Cornelia gave us 4 inspiration cards:

I focused on Cornelia's:
-penguin theme
-blue circle

SugarPea Designs Release Sweet Peeks Day 3

I knew you'd be back! It's Day 3 of SugarPea Designs' Sweet Peek Week and today it's all about Hallowe'en, with the cutest monsters around!

First up the vampire! I couldn't resist making him sparkle on a sunny day (we all know now that vampires sparkle in sunlight - that's why they have to live in rainy Washington State! lol!). I used the Starburst coverplate as a stencil with distress ink and some Stickles.

Next, a spooky graveyard scene using the new SpookyScape die. The sentiments in this set are punny and funny - you'll love mixing and matching them!

SugarPea Designs Release Sweet Peeks Day 2

Good morning! It's Day 2 of SugarPea Designs' Sweet Peeks week and we've got a set for all the creators out there!

Made with Love and the matching dies With Love are perfect for making tags for your hand-made gifts. Whether you love to bake, sew, knit, crochet (I've got at least one of each in my family!) - we've got the sentiment for you. And one little add-on that will make you and the gift recipient laugh.

I created a little shaker with the tag and heart dies and popped it on a card, using the foliage die to build some dimension and interest in the background.

Here's another look at the Arrow Coverplate we showed yesterday - this time I used it as a stencil. I added a double-tag (from today's reveal) and there's a sneak peek of something from Thursday here, too! I'm always amazed by how you can get so many different looks from the same products!
